              Who needs 'em anyway?
            YOU do.
Laid out in this section are rules and general policies of HOTL
that have been made for various reasons. The all-important thing
to remember when MUDding is that you're playing a game, and all
games have rules. Show us a game without rules and we'll show you
              a light-footed ogre.
Some rules may seem to impose a limit on your personal freedom.
It's a never-ending battle for us to balance individual wants and
group needs. But hey, don't you wish there were rules to protect
yourself when you feel you've been wronged? Rules set out the prescribed
method of dealing with a particular problem and help establish some
              kind of order.
Granted, there are times when we need to question the rules. Such
freak situations should be few and far between (we hope). So, we
may consider these things on a case-by-case basis: genuine human
errors (eg. typos, miscommunication), counter evidence, and other
              special circumstances.
Of course, you should have amassed all available evidence when
you try to accuse someone of doing something. And never, never fail
to get your facts correct before bringing it up, unless you want
              to appear a fool.
It is your duty as a player to read and abide by the rules of the
game. Ignorance is no longer an excuse.
