Character planning
This section is a guideline on planning your character properly. While each and every skillet can eventually become powerful given enough Es, some skillsets synergise with each other better.
It is recommended to focus on one primary class, be it warrior, thief, cleric or mage, before taking books of other classes to support your primary class of books. Warriors and weaponmasters will eventually want to learn bodycontrol (thief - 8 slots) as bodycontrol reduces the ap of all skills. Mages might want to learn manshield (wind - 12 slots) after learning the advance combat books of their plane of magic for survivability. Focusing on holy or wind in gen 1 is generally not recommended due to the lack of offensive spells. Although levelling is not impossible, it is quite difficult.
All spellcasters will want to learn speed casting (4 slots) as it reduces the ap of all spells. Other skillsets that are very helpful include sanctuary (6 slots) to increase resistance and dispel magic (3 slots) to get rid of all the annoying buffs on a mob.
However, do take note that books can be forgotten as well. For instance, a weaponmaster or thief might learn cyclone kick (book of close combat) to ease the levelling process, then forget the book later in favour of other books.
