Skills
There are six main types of skills available - Warrior,
Thieving, Weaponmaster, Bard, Survival, and Class.
The knowledge of skills is contained within books to be purchased
from the respective guilds, or found on their appropriate owners
throughout the lands. If you wish to learn these skills, you would
first need to obtain the book, learn from it, and practise the skills
therein.
You may practice each skill up to 100 %. Needless to say, a higher
level of practice means you fail less often. The level of your practice
is important at higher generations as you will gain one level of
expertise (that's what E in your skill list refers to) for every
skill practised at over 90%. Hence a Gen5 character with a trip
rating of E4 is likely to be more successful in tripping opponents
than a Gen1 character with no E rating in trip (even though he has
practised the skill).
At present, there are three broad groups of skills in HOTL3:

You don't have to restrict yourself to learning all skills if you
plan to be a fighter. You're free to learn spells and perform magical
abilities.
